TeleCommunication Systems (TCS) recently expressed its intentions to focus on its African marketing and sales activities. To that end, the Annapolis, Maryland-based company made an announcement on November 2 that it hadopened a new sales office in Johannesburg, South Africa.
TCS delivers wireless Location-Based Services (LBS) solutions to customers around the world. It serves important consumer brands, content providers, and voice service providers by providing them with both branded and private-label applications, infrastructure, mapping, and content.
Managing director Andy Minaar will administer the new office in Johannesburg. He will manage the operation and sales of the entire range of commercial software solutions offered by TeleCommunication Systems, be they LBS or otherwise. Minaar has previously served as a manager in the African wireless sector, and he had once led and improved the African voice messaging business operated by Glenayre.
